INTERPOL issued Red Corner Notice to nab scamster Nirav Modi

Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI)has requested the INTERPOL help to nab the absconding billionaire diamond jeweller Nirav Modi, who defrauded the Panjab National Bank to a tune of $ 2 billion. Modi and his uncle Mehul Choksi fled the country and refused to come back to India to face the money laundering and bank fraud cases. Enforcement Directorate has cancelled the passport of Nirav Modi and CBI has updated this information on INTERPOL Database. Later as INTERPOL was convinced of the crimes against the fugitive and issued a Red Corner Notice to 192 of its member countries.

Though the passport has been impounded by the ED Nirav Modi has travelled to several countries with impunity. He is trying hard to get asylum in other countries. As India is having an extradition treaty with several countries, it is not going to be easy for the fugitive Modi. With the INTERPOL Red Corner Notice every Airport, international borders, seaports will be alerted.
