Jammu Kashmir Chief Minister Mehabooba Mufti tendered her resignation to the Governor today. She taken this decission after the BJP pulled out of its alliance with Mehbooba Mufti’s People’s Democratic Party.
“It has become untenable for the BJP to continue its alliance government in Jammu and Kashmir, hence we are withdrawing” BJP general secretary Ram Madhav announced in Delhi.
“Terrorism, violence and radicalisation have risen and fundamental rights of the citizens are under danger in the Valley. Shujaat Bukhari’s killing is an example.” Ram Madhav added.
He favors Governor rule in the state in the view of controlling law and order in the state. BJP and PDP formed alliance to came in to power, even though their ideologies are completely different. PDP has 28 MLAs and BJP has 25 MLAs.
The Mehbooba Mufti-led PDP is reportedly unhappy with the Centre’s decision to revoke the month-long suspension of the ceasefire which was in force during the holy month of Ramzan. The decision was taken in the wake of sensational killing of ‘The Rising Kashmir’ editor Shujaat Bukhari and Army rifleman Aurangzeb by Pakistan-backed terrorists.
Interestingly, Amit Shah is also scheduled to visit Jammu on a two-day visit beginning June 23.
