The Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) 41st AGM is being held. Mukesh Ambani revealed Reliance Jio’s grand plan the JioGigaFibre. It is a fibre to the home wired broadband service. He said they are extending the fibre connectivity to homes, merchants, small and medium enterprises and large enterprises simultaneously across 1,100 cities to offer the most advanced fibre-based broadband connectivity solutions. Reliance JioGigaFibre will bring to home ultra HD entertainment on large screen TVs, multi-party video conferencing, voice-activated virtual assistants, virtual reality gaming, digital shopping and immersive experiences. He further added that it will empower small businesses to compete with large businesses. Large businesses will be able to compete globally by using digital tools and techniques that are powering the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Isha Ambani speaking at the AGM said that the days of MPBS speeds are gone and a new era of GBPS speed is beginning. “Your home will have wall-to-wall Wi-Fi coverage, every appliance, plug point, switch will become smart. You can have cameras giving you 24×7 security monitoring, alerts,” said Akash Ambani, Reliance Jio Director.

Mukesh Ambani said that YouTube, Facebook, and WhatsApp are coming to the “effectively free” Reliance Jio Phone from 15 August. He announced that ‘” under the Reliance Jio Phone Monsoon Hungama offer, you will be able to exchange your old phone for a Reliance Jio Phone at an effective entry price of just Rs 501″. He unveiled the new Reliance Jio Phone 2 at an introductory price of Rs 2,999 and will be available from 15 August. He said that his intention is to reach 100 million users with the new phone platform.
Ambani is bringing a brand new ecosystem of online to offline commerce encompassing Reliance Retail and Reliance Jio. He is using the synergies of 35 crore customer footfalls at Reliance Retail, 21.5 crore Reliance Jio customers, 5 crore JioGigaFiber home customers, and three crore small merchants and shopkeepers in the ecosystem.
Mukesh revealed his plans to tap the unprecedented opportunity to create wealth in agriculture ushering in a smart new green revolution benefiting the farmers and consumers. He planned to foray into education in a big way by connecting 58,000 colleges and universities and 1.9 million in less than 2 years time.
